Becky and Nathan – tie the knot!

Becky and Nathan had an incredible day for a wedding!!! What more could you ask for, for a Manitoba winter wedding? It had just snowed, it was a pretty mild day (just ask the girls in strapless dresses – they may or may not agree with me!). But all in all, we had so much fun playing football with the bridal party, running in the snow, we just had a blast. Here is a sneak peek of these two gorgeous people!

DIY ~ Mason Jars!

Here is a great DIY Project that features a very reusable item – mason jars! Mason jars are incredibly cute when filled with the right item! There are so many great uses for these jars and they are perfect for outdoor weddings! Cluster several jars together on a table and fill them with flowers! Or fill with sand and candles for a gorgeous display. Or place a single cut flower in each one and hang from a tree! Perfect for a backyard wedding or outdoor reception. You can even use them individually as table numbers. Write the number on the outside of the jar and fill with bath salts for an awesome splash of colour! Or fill them with sand, rocks, coloured stones or sea shells – another great idea for beach-themed weddings! Fill them with candles and hang these too from the branches of a tree – how amazing would they look all lit up at night! Or use them along a pathway and have the candles light the way for guests. Another great idea is to fill them with family photos, photos of yourselves as kids all the way up to adults or of your beautiful engagement photos. You can even fill them with your favourite homemade jam and offer them up as wedding favors! Take a look at just some of the great ideas mason jars can be!

DIY ~ Wedding Favor CD's!

Here's a fun DIY Project that will really get you thinking! DIY CD's are a great little favor! Create your very own wedding soundtrack and give your guests personalized cd's as your favors! All you have to do is pick your favourite love songs, burn them to a cd and create the label! Personalize the label with your names and wedding date, even include your wedding colours or specific graphic detail that was used in your decor. Or include a loving photo of the two of your from your engagement session!

Another great idea is to try and remember all your favourite songs or ones that were popular the year that you met! You can even list which songs had a special meaning for each of you! Include a square liner note with the cd listing the songs and the meaning behind them. Guests will love reading these fun notes! Or think of all the songs you want your DJ to play the night of your reception and use those as your song list! A great way for guests to remember how much fun your wedding was! You can use slim line jewel cases and create the inside liner sheet detailing the events of your wedding day, the story of how you two met or a cute poem! Celebrity Weddings ~ Michael Bublé & Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre

Yesterday, Michael Bublé married Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre in a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires, Argentina! Michael wore a gray suit while the bride wore a lilac chiffon dress with silver high heels. Luisana even tossed her bouquet of purple orchids into the crowd of fans that had gathered outside the ceremony site. The newly married couple are planning on holding a bigger ceremony this weekend with plans to celebrate with 300 guests at a mansion outside Buenos Aires.

Karen & Mike are Married!!

We'd like to introduce you to Karen and Mike! They came to us to fill their décor and design needs for their wedding day. A big thank you to Madix Photography for capturing these beautiful images!

What a gorgeous shot!

Karen and Mike had their reception at the St. Boniface Golf Course. For their wedding colours, they chose white and a very vibrant aqua! For their reception tables, we provided white floor length linens and white chair covers. We also used our aqua organza overlays, white table runners and white napkins to match!

We dressed their head table in white linens and used aqua and white runners along the front for colour. Candles, fresh rose petals and glass vases filled with aqua water were spread along their entire length of the head table for a fabulous look! Behind their head table, we draped white chiffon fabric and framed the large beautiful windows of the St. Boniface Golf Course.

Madeline's also provided our signature Candy Buffet for our newly married couple! Guests found mini take home boxes ready to be filled! We colour coordinated with white, blue and green candies, white linens and aqua organza overlays. Another finishing touch were the aqua ribbons tied around the glassware!

DIY ~ Rose Petal Toss Holders!

Are you looking for a fun way for your guests to shower you with rose petals as you and your new husband make your way up the aisle? Then here’s a twist on the traditional petal cone! Instead, make your own petal box! These are really great if you're on a time crunch! One great idea is using popcorn boxes! These small, plain white boxes are a perfect fit! Simply punch a hole in each side, tie a ribbon on each end and you're done! Dress them up even further with the same ribbon around the front of the box and add your very own monogram to it! Another great option are small square boxes! You can fill these with quite a few petals and you have your choice – with the lid or without! If the lid is large enough, double up and use both the lid and the box and fill each with beautiful rose petals. These small boxes come in all sorts of colours and patterns to coordinate with your wedding colours. If you’re looking for something outside the box, look for shear organza bags. These are a really great option as they already come with the drawstring so you simply fill the bag, tie and you're done! Add a fun petal toss tag so your guests know when to throw the petals. These organza bags are available in an assortment of colours! Some last ideas are Glassine envelopes or Natural Kraft bags. Each of these make for great petal toss holders and don’t forget to seal them with a DIY label!

Hot New Trends ~ Luxurious Textures!

There are plenty of 2011 trends we're starting to see more and more of lately! One of the more exciting ones we're looking forward to seeing are Luxurious Textures! One of the areas we'll see this trend develop the most is within wedding gowns. We'll start to see more extravagant, oversized flowers and layers upon layers of chiffon, tulle and lace. Delicate beadwork on the bodice or the skirt also helps to add fabulous texture to a wedding gown.

Keep an eye out for more wedding cakes featuring delicate sugar rose petals that cover the entire cake or pearl beading, intricate stencilling or cascading flowers! Even the bride’s bouquet is in for a textured makeover! Look for bouquets that are not only flowers but ones that incorporate plenty of ribbon, jewels or feathers! A variety of different flower styles, colours and here too different petal textures make for gorgeous and unique bouquets! Centerpieces featuring tall beautiful branches, soft candles or dripping with crystals are sure to be the style this year! Another area we’ll see more luxurious textures is in the reception tables! Table settings spread out upon gorgeous pintuck, pinched or satin linens. Plenty of patterns and the ever growing demand for chiavari chairs will be what couples will be looking for this year!

Becca & Tim Tied the Knot!

We’d like to introduce you to Becca and Tim! We first met this happy couple about 10 months prior to their big day! We planned and coordinated their entire wedding and LOVED every minute of it! What a fabulous couple! Their ceremony was held at the Knox United Church and their reception took place at the Red River Princess Campus.

Thank you to Wedlife Photography for the images. And thank you to Julie and The Floral Fixx for all the gorgeous flowers and to Cake-ology for the amazing cake!

And now for their fabulous reception!! For their colour palette, Becca & Tim chose red, black and ivory! Madeline’s dressed the tables with ivory floor length linens and accentuated them with our dramatic damask patterned overlay. We dressed the chairs with ivory chair covers and finished off the tables with matching ivory napkins. The results were stunning!

For their head table, we used ivory linens once again and white and damask patterned table runners draped over the front to highlight the table. Their head table fit perfectly with the damask backdrop! We finished it off with our head table décor including fresh rose petals, candles and spotlighting!

DIY ~ Unique Edible Favors!

There are so many items to chose from when it comes to picking the perfect wedding favor. And edible favors are no different. But if you're looking for something really different and outside-the-box than think of items your guests might not expect to see at a wedding! If you're a coffee lover and know there will be quite a few guests who enjoy a good cup of java at your wedding, think about packaging your own favourite blend of coffee beans! You can even do a "his" and "hers" option with you each picking your favourite blend! A fun little bag with a personalized a label on the front is the perfect choice for coffee beans. And if coffee isn't your preferred drink, possibly a hot chocolate is! Cellophane baggies filled with hot chocolate powder is another fun idea! And don't forget the mini marshmallows!

Keeping in tune with the chocolate idea, s'mores are always a hit! All you need is the right size container to fill them with chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers. Packaged and tied with a pretty bow, guests will surly be impressed! Or try your hand at creating your own candied applies! You can make a few different options and mix and matching the toppings with these! Another fun favourite are gourmet items like cookies or Biscotti! Perfect for those who love something sweet! And last, if something sticky is more of what your looking for then caramel corn is the way to go! Packaged in a clear container, guests will be wanting to dig in as soon as they see these fun favors!

Looking for an elegant alternative to a traditional wedding cake? Then a wedding cheesecake might just be for you! The design doesn’t need to be your regular cheesecake either! A beautifully decorated cheesecake might be a tasty surprise for your guests! They might not even know its cheesecake until you cut into it! In that case, guests might want to skip the meal and go straight for the dessert! Cheesecakes can come in all sorts of flavours from Amaretto to Lemon Raspberry to Strawberry Cream Coconut. And they too can be created in 2, 3 or 4 tier options that suite your wedding style. You can really mix it up and offer up each layer as a different flavour!

If red is among your colour palette, shower the cheesecake in lots of red strawberries! Or how about a 3-tier covered in chocolate and Oreo crumble! Perfect for palettes that feature brown or black as a colour option. Of if you still want to incorporate flowers into the cheesecake, talk to your baker to see how you can place flowers in between each layer. This can really take the cheesecake to a whole other level! If you’re thinking of having a Groom’s cake then think about serving that option as your groom’s favourite cheesecake flavour! And a spread of different individual servings of cheesecake are a fun option as well! Offer mini boxes for guests who wish to take some home with them! Celebrity Weddings ~ Kevin Jonas & Danielle Deleasa!

Today we're taking a look back at the lavish 2009 wedding of Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa! Their wedding was like a Disney fairytale! Complete with a castle, an enchanted forest and glass slippers in the bride's shoe size - a wonderful gift from Kevin to his new bride! Their wedding took place at the Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York in front of 400 family and friends. A custom aisle runner was even created with glitter snowflakes and Swarovski crystals! Danielle walked down the aisle while a close family friend played "Bella Notte" (from Disney's Lady and the Tramp soundtrack) on the guitar. For her dress, Danielle chose a strapless tulle and Chantilly Lace Vera Wang gown. She also wore a silk-and-crystal flower in her hair designed by Denise Leli. She chose this special detail because she was wearing a flower in her hair the first time she met Kevin in the Bahamas. How romantic!

The groom's father Kevin Jonas Sr. officiated the ceremony while the couple recited traditional vows. They exchanged Jacob & Co. wedding bands that they designed for one another. Following the nuptials, a casino-themed cocktail hour was held complete with Rat Pack impersonators! Celebrity Event Planner Michael Russo created a fairytale forest under heated white tents, complete with 14-foot trees draped in hydrangeas and crystals made to look like icicles. While 25,000 white roses, orchids and hydrangeas filled the reception! Although a blizzard was ongoing, the snow made it look more like a winder wonderland! For the reception, guests were treated to Caribbean, Asian and Italian dishes. The couple shared their first dance to Keith Urban’s “Only You Can Love Me This Way” and their wedding cake was a seven-tiered pistachio and chocolate mousse creation. It too was adorned with Swarovski crystals! Check out their gorgeous images below!

DIY ~ Edible Escort Card Bases!

If you're planning on having escort cards at your wedding reception but wanted to make them a little more fun, then look at making escort cards attached to something edible! Dress them up with a sweet treat as the base of the card! You can use almost anything that is wrapped to hold your escort card. Cookies are always a popular choice. Kick them up a notch a have your monogram on them! Wrapped in clear cellophane bags and tied with a pretty bow makes a fun little welcome for your guests as they enter your reception. You can even create the escort card yourself to really personalize it.

If chocolate is more of what you're looking for, small wrapped chocolates or full size chocolate bars are a great idea! For the bars, you can create the labels right at home and simple wrap them around the sealed chocolate bar. Fasten with some double-sided tape and you're all set! Looking for something more fresh and vibrant? Green Apples make for a gorgeous set up when placed side by side on a table. The bright green is sure to stand out! These edible bases can work double-time as your wedding favor if you choose to as well! Guests can collect their favor and see which table they are seated at right when they arrive! Makes for a fun conversation piece!

Royal Wedding Update ~ New Details Released!!

More Royal Wedding details have been released! We now know what Kate Middleton's royal carriage will look like! The 109-year-old State Landau is a horse-drawn coach that will transport Prince William and his new bride as they leave Westminster Abbey enroute to Buckingham Palace. The palace also has a back up plan should it rain that day. The couple will then ride in the famous Glass Coach which was built in 1881 and carried Diana on her wedding day 30 years ago. The car that will take Kate and her father to the ceremony is a Rolls Phantom VI. Be sure to tune in April 29th as these won't be the only coaches we see that day! Five coaches in total will be apart of the procession carrying the newly married couple, another for the Maid of Honour, Best Man and the young pages as well as Kate's parents, Prince Charles and Camilla and the Queen herself!

Details are hardly overlooked but now they are more important than ever! No detail is too small and everything should be planned and well thought out from the flowers to the colours to ways to personalize your wedding. The wedding cake is typically a major focal point for most weddings. Pay close attention to the style and look of the cake. Highlight it with any special details from your wedding colour palette or decor design such as a damask pattern. If you have a monogram on your stationery, have it re-created for your cake. If you plan on plenty of flowers for the ceremony and reception, be sure to include flowers for either your cake topper or to have placed around the cake to tie it into the rest of the room.

Another great way to capture a fabulous detail is in your reception stationery. Personalize your menu cards or table numbers. Each escort card or place card should match with the rest of the reception stationery. Think about ways to interject fun into your reception. A Candy Buffet or Dessert Bar are fabulous ways to really focus in on all the little things that can really make your wedding memorable! Carry through the linens and decor into either option. Little things like ribbon, candles, glassware and even the stationery can make a big impact on your reception room. Think about your shoes, they too are an important detail we see lots of in the photography. Opt for something fun and funky or something with colour that matches your wedding colours. Your ceremony site is another great place to focus in on the details. Think about an aisle runner or take it one step further and have a personalized aisle runner with your names and wedding date on it. Incorporate lots of flowers than can be then moved to your reception after the ceremony. Think about aisle pews and fabric draping to frame your walk down the aisle. Tossing petals and ceremony programs for your guests are more great ideas to include! All of these details look fabulous in photos and are sure to make your wedding stand out! Today's project focuses on DIY Ring Pillows for your wedding ceremony! If you're looking for something a little more fun and a little less traditional, then think of ways to create your very own ring pillow. Most pillows you find in the store are your traditional, square satin options but a custom pillow that you've created yourself can be much more than that! Choose fabrics and colours that coordinate with the theme or style of your wedding! Creating your own guarantees you will have a one-of-a kind ring pillow!

These fabulous pillows can come in all sort of styles, shapes and colours. And you can embellish them with lots of gorgeous ribbons in all sorts of sizes too! If you really want a memorable pillow, create a ribbon pillow! Guests will be impressed with the time you spent hand crafting this jem! Another fun way to jazz them up is by adding a large flower such as daisies, dahlias or sunflowers. For a really unique look, choose a flower that is much larger than the pillow itself. Tinholt's Open House!

Last month Madeline's Weddings took part in an open house at the Tinholt Estate and today we're excited to bring you photos from that event! Thank you to Mike Tinholt Photography for sharing these gorgeous images with us! Thank you as well to the other vendors that participated in this event - Veiled with Beauty, Vanilla Bean Cakes and House of Silk.

For this event Madeline's designed several different table spreads!

Our first table featured our black pintuck linens with a damask table runner, white napkins and our sophisticated black chair covers

Another exquisite table featured our cinnamon pintuck linens with ivory napkins and ivory chair covers.

We also designed a reception table featuring our new lime pinched linens with our fuchsia table runners, white napkins and we finished off this look with our satin white chair covers.

Another beautiful table showcased our gold satin linens with a patterned champagne overlay, aqua table runners and aqua napkins. For this table we paired these linens with our gorgeous gold chiavari chairs!

Our final table consisted of our plum pintuck linens paired with a plum table runner, napkins and our matching satin chair covers.

Tomorrow, March 18th, 2011 Madeline’s Weddings will be participating in Bloggers Day of Silence in honour of Japan, organized by Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged.
Fellow bloggers have come together to create For Japan With Love. A project dedicated to raising awareness, and helping to raise donations for disaster relief in Japan. We’ve all seen the horrific images and video footage. Now it’s our time to act.

For Japan With Love has a direct link on the website to the fundraising page for ShelterBox. ShelterBox was one of THE first organizations asked by Japan to help and were on hand on the Saturday after the quake. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

DIY ~ Creative Place Cards!

Looking for a fun and creative way to greet your guests as they take their place at their reception table? Then create your very own unique place cards! Think about the style or theme of your wedding. If grapes or wine is a part of your theme, make your own place cards using wine bottle corks! You can order the corks from a specialty retailer and create the cards yourself! Looking for more of a beach theme - mini umbrellas, sea shells or a cute little star fish make great place card holders! These are especially cute if they match your invitations or reception stationery! A great way to really personalize your wedding!

If you like the idea of a mini tent card still, look for ways to dress it up. Look for vintage patterns like doilies or more modern textures. Glue the fabric to the tent card and then glue another smaller piece of card on top of it or to the inside where you can write the guests name. Adding different textures or layers to card stock is a really great way to make it stand out. There are also tons of fun embellishments you can find at your local craft store. Everything from colourful jewels and rhinestones to mini flowers and ribbon sliders. There are lots of great ways to really make them your own and let your creative side shine!

Real Wedding ~ Julia & Jamie

Meet Julia and Jamie! We met our happy couple when they came to us for their wedding day decor! Julia and Jamie had their ceremony at Holy Rosary Church. We LOVE Father Sam at Holy Rosary!! Their reception was held at the historic Fort Gibraltar this past winter.

We were excited to have Manuel F. Sousa on hand to capture their beautiful day! Thank you Manuel for these gorgeous images!!

For their reception, Madeline's designed for them reception tables with white linens, aqua organza overlays and we topped off the tables with beautiful damask table runners. We paired the linens with matching white chair covers and white napkins. Their headtable also consisted of white linens, aqua draping and a damask runner. We finished off the look with our head table decor that included candles, rose petals and spotlighting.

Madeline's also provided all the matching stationery for the reception that suited their colour palette! We designed for them table numbers, menu cards and a seating chart. We even had a signature drink on hand for the happy couple to enjoy with their guests!

Where do I begin with this amazing couple!! Lenea and I photographed Cherie & Sean’s wedding on a beautiful summer day. It was a little gloomy in the morning but the sun broke through and we kept ourselves cool (and hunger free) with coke and cheeseburgers from McDonald’s!

We both adore this couple. They were so much fun!

The reception was rockin’ and filled with a few tears after Cherie’s son Winston gave the most tear jerking speech!! I was trying to snap photos in between wiping tears from my eyes.

DIY ~ Favor Donation Cards

Today's DIY Project is a thoughtful one that comes straight from the heart. If you plan on making a donation to a charity instead of a usual wedding favor then this idea is for you. Making your own Wedding Favor Donation Cards are a great way to let guests know how much this means to you. Include on the card information about the charity you're donating to in lieu of favors. Feel free to include the website of the charity as well. Your guests might be inspired by your gesture to take it one step further and make a donation themselves.

These cards can still fit in with the style or theme of your wedding. They can match your invitations or reception stationery. Make them two-sided and include a loving photo of the two of you from your engagement session on one side and all the donation information on the other. Tie them with beautiful ribbons in your wedding colours for that extra special touch. Real Wedding ~ Nikki & Todd

We'd like to introduce you to Nikki and Todd! They came to us for all their décor and design needs for their big day! Thank you to Jeremy Heibert who photographed this beautiful wedding!

Nikki and Todd had both their ceremony and reception at the Four Points Sheraton. Nikki wore a GORGEOUS black and white dress that was in tune with the décor! And the bouquet was another amazing detail - it had white feathers in it!

For their reception, Madeline's designed for them a palette that included black, cranberry red and white. The reception tables were dressed with cranberry red floor length linens, cranberry red overlays and a damask table runner. The chairs were dressed with black chair covers and the tables were topped off with black napkins to match. For their head table, we went with a gorgeous damask table linen that covered the entire table! A white table runner spread across and Madeline's also had our signature head table décor that included candles and beautiful red rose petals that just POP against the damask linen! We finished it off with our head table lighting to really make it shine!

What a gorgeous dress!!

Madeline's also took care of all the stationary for our happy couple! We created invitations and matching respond cards as well as the reception stationary that included menu cards, table numbers and a seating chart!

Celebrity Weddings ~ Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban!

Today's Celebrity Wedding takes a look back at the 2006 wedding of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban! The couple were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony in the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in the Sydney suburb of Manly. Nicole arrived to the ceremony in a vintage Rolls-Royce. She wore a gown designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga. She kept her veil on throughout the ceremony, only lifting it when it came time to say their vows. For her flowers, Nicole chose white freesias, gardenias and carnations. The candlelit ceremony took place in front of 230 family and friends. The pealing of wedding bells at 6:25pm signaled the couple had become husband and wife and guests showered them with white rose petals as they made their way up the aisle!

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in an adjoining tent. The reception had a passion theme complete with red colour scheme including a red carpet, red carnations hanging from huge chandeliers and red roses on the tables! Guests dined on pumpkin ravioli, grain-fed beef with salsa verde and poached Tasmanian salmon. For dessert, a three-tier raspberry and mascarpone wedding cake, with rose scented raspberry syrup and organic rose petals was created. The couple's first dance began with “At Last” by Etta James but broke into the more upbeat “You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed” by the Skyhooks! Hugh Jackman sang for the couple while Keith himself serenaded his new bride with one of his own songs, Making Memories of Us. At the end of the evening, guests took home Tiffany & Co. desk clocks engraved with “A Moment in Time, June 25, 2006, Nicole & Keith.”

Today's DIY Project is a fun one for the bridesmaids! If you're looking for a way to help make the bride's wedding day even more special and flow with ease, this is a great idea! There are all kinds of little things one can forget the morning of her wedding. Having a back up kit filled with helpful items is an awesome gesture! You can fill the kit with ever so important mini Kleenex packets! You can never have too many of those! Extra bobby pins and a small bottle of hairspray is a great idea too. You can even include an Emery Board, Safety Pins and Earring Backs for those 'just in case' moments. Don't forget to include fun little mirrors for make-up checks! This works as a great group project too! Create kits for each of the girls in the bridal party.

This is also a great way to start a tradition between girlfriends! Find a container that can stand the test of time so each of you can pass it around as the next girl gets married! Look for a vintage lunchbox from your youth or a mini suitcase. You can decorate the kit to include the brides name and even silly photos of her! And as bridesmaids, you can each write your names and special messages on it! She'll love the fact that you spent the time to make the morning of her wedding even more special for her!

How about some warm, dreamy and romantic images to warm you up during this freezing March!!! Kerensa and Corey had the absolute PERFECT wedding day! Julie and I had so much fun with the couple, the bridal party and the families. They had us laughing during the photoshoot, crying during the speeches – and in awe of the chemistry between the two of them. A country setting, a day filled with loads of love and laughter, what more could you ask for? We were able to incorporate the purple chair that belongs to her grandmother, and the corn fields that the family owns. Thank you both for having us be there to capture your amazing day! DIY ~ Will You Be My Bridesmaid? Cards!

You're bridesmaids are your closest gal pals, the ones you want standing up with you on your wedding day. So when asking them, why not create a fun little card to do so! Asking them to be a part of your special day is a real honour so why not do it in a special way. They'll love the time you spent making these cards for them. If all your girls live in town, why not host a dinner and ask them all together. You can create fun place cards for each of them asking them to be with you on your wedding day! If some live out of town and you've asked them over the phone, a great idea is sending a follow up card you've made yourself, thanking them for being a bridesmaid. They'll love the thoughtful gesture and a homemade card straight from the heart will do just that!

Include the story of how the two of you met, its a great trip down memory lane! Tell them how much they mean to you. You can embellish the cards with anything you want! Explore your local craft store and add decorative jewels or colourful ribbons. Create them in your wedding colours to give your girls a sneak peak of what's to come. Another great idea is to add favourite photos of the two of you over the course of your friendship. If you're really creative, ask them by writing a fun little poem! Celebrity Weddings ~ Kelsey Grammer & Kayte Walsh!

Last Friday, Kelsey Grammer married Kayte Walsh on a rainy day in New York City. But the rain didn't get them down! The couple were wed inside the Longacre Theatre in New York. The decor in the theatre consisted of huge bouquets of pink and red flowers in gold urns and left over props from La Cage aux Folles. For her dress, Kayte wore a custom silk sheath gown with beaded straps and bodice created by Peter Langer for Mark Ingram. The bridesmaids wore matching black dresses and Chrisitan Louboutin heels.

Following the ceremony, guests where escorted to the Plaza Hotel where they were ushered into the Grand Ballroom for a lavish dinner! After dinner, guests found the ballroom was transformed! Gold lounge furniture, cocktail tables and a massive dance floor now filled the space! There was a even stage on one side for the DJ and a sleek bar on the other. Their wedding cake was a 55-inch tall carrot cake! Guests also dined on passed desserts including mini ice cream cones and little smoothies - how fun!! Kelsey and Kayte also shared with their guests the story of how they met! And before the night was over, the newlyweds slipped away quietly to begin their new life together!

DIY ~ Ribbon Seating Charts!

Today's DIY Project takes a look at Ribbon Seating Charts! This is a very creative project your guests will be very impressed with! The backing of the chart needs to be something sturdy such as black or white foamcore board. Choose ribbon in different colours to help the layers stand out. You'll also need fabric strips to help keep the ribbon in place! You can even match different colours with different patterns or textures for a great visual effect!

Mix and match different thickness of ribbons to really make your Ribbon Seating Chart pop! Layer the thinner layers over the thick ones to really make it fun! Next, you'll need to create the escort cards to attach to your board! You can personalize these to include your guests name and table number as well as your own names and wedding date! Slip the escort cards in between the rows of ribbon or another fun idea is using straight pins and pinning the escort cards to the board. If you prefer a seating chart with table numbers and guest names on one sheet, create them the way you would for a regular seating chart and pin them to your ribbon board!

One of the great Hot New Trends we'll see more and more of in 2011 are Themed Engagement Shoots! What a great way to have some fun with your shoot and do something that means a lot to the both of you! Maybe you met somewhere or worked together somewhere specific and wanted to included that in your shoot. Maybe your theme is old Hollywood or something a little more retro! If you both have a love for flying then look at shooting at a vintage airplane museum! Carnival style engagement shoots are always a fun time! Last week we looked at Box Wraps so staying in tune with the favor idea, today we're taking a look at DIY Favor Bags! This is a great way to dress up your favors especially if you plan on filling them with something edible. Guests will love the idea of a take home goodie bag filled with sweets! You can find many of these bags in small enough sizes to fit your needs. You can even find some in your wedding colours. But if you can't find the exact colour, stick with white or natural bags and dress them up with a gorgeous ribbon that matches your colours! These are a simple and easy way to really make your favors stand out.

You can also create a custom thank you tag and tie it onto each bag! Include a fun little message with your names and wedding date! A great way to personalize the bags! Or take a different route and seal them with a custom label. A great way to show of your monogram if you have one. These mini bags are a great idea because you can fill them with almost anything you want and the size of the thank you tag can be larger than normal. Say if you planned on filling them with your favourite cookies as your favors, maybe include the recipe on the outside of the bag! Guests will love the idea! Another great idea is have the favor bag work as an escort card as well! Guests can pick up their favors as they arrive and the tag on the bag can show them what table they're seated at! Just another great way to add that creative touch to your wedding!!

Celebrity Weddings ~ Victoria Adams & David Beckham!

Today's Celebrity Wedding features Victoria Adams and David Beckham! David and Victoria were married back in 1999 at the Luttrellstown Castle just outside of Dublin, Ireland. Just 29 of their closest family and friends were present at the ceremony which was held in a private room. The room itself was adorned with rose petals and silver tree birch! At the end of the ceremony, a single white dove was released. Victoria being of keen fashion sense wore a GORGEOUS champagne coloured strapless gown by Vera Wang. Her husband-to-be wore an ivory and cream suit to the happy occasion! In her hair, Victoria wore an 18-carat gold crown encrusted with diamonds.

A black-tie reception was held for a much larger crowd, 230 guests to be exact! The reception room was even filled with cushions the size of double beds. One of the highlights at their wedding reception had to have been the couple choosing to sit upon golden thrones! Guests dined on red pepper soup, turkey breast, grilled Mediterranean vegetables and sticky toffee pudding with a terrine of summer berries. Their wedding cake was served with a nude sculpture of the couple on top! And how did the couple end their reception?? Hundreds of red balloons were released into the air while a fireworks display lit up the sky. How fabulous is that!!
